Please post about the main events from the story Terrible Storm. Tell me about Walt and Fred's experience and how it was similar/different. What do you think is the main idea of the entire book??
Otis and Fred became friends when they were little kids.Then,a storm hit for three days.. Otis was stuck in a place with no people .Fred was stuck in a place with lots of people.They both had to stay in one place for three days. When the storm was over on the third day they both wanted to go somewhere. Otis went to a place with lots of people..Fred wanted to go to a place with no people.After that Otis told Fred how he hated being stuck in a place with no people.Fred talked about how he hated being with people.
Walt and Fred were both friends since they were boys and they both always talk about the day and then think about what had happened to them in 1888,''The Terrible Storm" It was back long time ago when Walt and Fred were doing there job,Walt had the job to cut fresh wood,and Fred had to deliver milk. The grandpa's both did their job until the Storm. Both of them passed the wrong way and got the opposite. Fred, a hermit of course,accidentally went to a place crowded with people and Walt went to a place with nobody. Still both of them did not run away. Both of them stayed there anyway. Unhappy. For 3 whole days there.At least they made it out. At the end of the storm they were Free.
Main Idea 1.Sometimes you have to live with what you have.
In the book Terrible Storm, there were a lot of main events. The 2 grandpas when they were little, they became friends. Then, when they grow up to be grandpas, they talked about a storm that lasted for about 3 days.
When the 2 grandpas talked about what happened on the day there was a blizzard, they mostly talked about them having an unpleasant time. They had an unpleasant time, because they were both in the wrong places, if Grandpa Walt was in the barn or farm, he would be much happier being alone. If Grandpa Clark was where Grandpa Walt was in a house, he would be having a better time than being alone.
Grandpa Walt was having a bad time, because he ate alone, did nothing, and he slept alone. Grandpa Clark had a bad time, because he ate with other people, he did something with other people, and he slept with other people. So, those are some of the reasons why the grandpas were not happy when there was the storm.
Main Idea: The 2 grandpas were talking back when there was a blizzard, and the 2 grandpas talked about why it wasn’t a pleasant time for both of the grandpas.
similar/different: The similarity that both of the grandpas had was that they had an unpleasant time during most of the time at the blizzard. The difference is that they were in different places when the blizzard was happening.

Grandpas were different from each other.(Otis=sociable, Clark=shy) 2.They were both talking about the storm on the porch. 3.When they were working, the snow started to get thicker. 4.They both went to a place they didn’t like. 5. They had to stay at the place they didn’t like for 3 days. 6.The snow finally stopped at noon. 7.They both digged in the snow and got to a place they liked.
Main Idea: People have differences and they don’t always get what they prefer.
Walt and Freds experience with the blizzard were different because the social one was alone and the non-social one wasn’t alone and they both didn’t really have a place to sleep but they still had food and a roof over their head. I think the main idea of this was how the two friends survived the terrible blizzard.
1. Grandpa Odis and Grandpa Clark are different because Clark is shy and Odis is sociable. 2. They were both talking about the terrible storm on the porch. When they were talking about the terrible storm, they were flashing back to where they were. 3. When they were working, snow started to grow thicker and thicker. 4. They wanted to get out of the storm, but they went to the worst place for three days. 5.When the storm stopped, they got out of the worst place ever. 6. Then they started digging through the snow to get out. 7. When they finished digging out the snow, they were glad to see the place they exactly belonged.
The main events of the story was there was a terrible storm that cause the grandpa's to talk how horrible their three days was about and when they were little they were best friend now they are grandpa because they are all grown up. They both are the same because they both are a grandpa and have almost same person-i-a-dy, they also are the same because they both have a bad time during the storm. They are different because one grandpa like to be with people and the other like to be alone cause he shy. The main idea is really live with what you have and who cares if you dont like it just stay clam and wait cause when it end you can do what you want again and buy wut ever you want when everything is fix.
Main Idea: I think the main idea is that the grandpa's went to their worst place ever, and then went back to where they belonged when the terrible storm stopped.
First a the grandpas think back about the terrible storm. Next they talked about where they were when it hit. They both thought they could still do their work. They ended up finding shelter. The grandpa that liked being together with other people was in a barn by himself. The one that like being lonely ended up being with alot of people. They had to dig their way out of the snow. It was hard work. Then they met each other along the way. Then they were where they were sopposed to be. They said terrible storm. the main idea is about the terrible storm.

Finally, people dug their way out of the snow and went to the place they wanted to be.

Grandpa Clark and grandpa Odas didn’t like the same things. There was a terrible storm. They had to recover from their work. When the storm hit they both got forced to the worst place that they could ever be. Clark and Odas had to stay there 3 whole days. They did not like where they got stuck in the storm. When the storm ended they had to dig their way out.
Fred had a terrible time because he didn't like to talk since he was nervous,and Walt had a terrible time because he was alone in a farm.This means that the two friends are in the wrong places to enjoy,but its similar since they all had at least something to eat,and also they were both in the wrong plots, Walt was supposed to be in the house with the family which Walt liked while on the other hand,Fred was suppose to be in the farm alone which Fred liked.I think the main idea of this book its to keep trying,never give up, be patient, never give up, and imagination.
Grandpa Fred and grandpa Walt had a terrible time in the blizzard in 1888.They had a hard time because Grandpa Walt who likes being around people got stuck in a abandoned barn with some animals and Grandpa Fred who likes being alone got stuck in a motel filled with people.

They were both in opposite places that they didn't like. Walt was not happy with the place he was at because he was very sociable and likes to be around other people and he was at an abandoned barn. Fred wasn't happy because he didn't like to be around people and he was at a place that was crowded.

Main Idea: You will not always get what you want, like what happened to Grampa Otis and Clark when there was a blizzard.
The main events in The Terrible Storm is that Walt needs to take cover in his barn and Fred needs to take cover in like a shelter with other people who needed to take cover during the storm.Fred and Walt’s experience during the storm was different because Fred needed to stay in a public shelter which is the opposite of what he likes but, Walt needed to stay in his barn alone which is actually opposite of what he likes so Walt’s barn is to The public shelter as dog is to cat. I think the main idea of the book is that the two friends are opposites and that they are in their dislike places that the other grandpa likes. :)

Since, they were like opposites, (Fred was shy and Walt liked to be around people) Fred came to a place he did not like. (A place with a lot of people) Walt came to a place where he was alone. He did not really like being alone. They stayed there for 3 days. Next, the storm stopped, and so they needed to dig out the snow to where they want to go. So, they did that and Fred got to where he wanted to (alone) and Walt went to somewhere where he belonged to. (With other people) The End (maybe...)

The main events were when the both grandpas met each other. They were sitting at the porch talking about the terrible storm. Second, it started snowing and blowing hard at noon. Third, Grandpa Fred took cover at someone's house and Grandpa Clark took cover at a barn. Fourth, They got plenty of food to eat so they won't starve to death. Fifth, people were digging up the snow to make a trail that they could go through. Sixth, they passed each other and didn’t even say “ Hi”. Finally, after digging up the snow to make the trail, they went home and had peace. Grandpa Fred was happy that he had nobody to talk to just peace. Grandpa Fred and Walt are the same because they both got stuck at the storm until there was shelter, they had a bad time at the storm, and they are both grandpas. They are different because grandpa Clark likes to be with other people and grandpa Fred likes to be alone, no people around with him. At the story, grandpa Clark was alone in the barn with animals and grandpa Fred stayed with other people. Both of the grandpa had a worse day in the storm. I think the main idea was that even if you don’t like what is going on and its not your way, it’s okay. Just stay calm and happy, even if it’s not your way.

The third one is they talked about where they stayed during the storm. There are four more main events, the fourth was them talking about having enough food. The fifth was them talking about where they slept. Two more main ideas, and the sixth one is them talking bout what they did after the storm. The seventh and final one is, them talking about how bad the storm was. Walt’s and fred’s experience was different because they were both in the place they don’t want to be. Their experience is the same because the had terrible days during the storm. i think the main idea of the entire book is both of them being at the exact opposite place at the same time.
I have 7 events and I'm going to start with this one. First, the grandpas started telling their story about the terrible storm. Next, they told each other how it started to snow harder and harder in the morning. Then, they both thought they would be fine in the snow and started walking. After that, they both found a shelter, but they didn't feel comfortable in their shelter. A temporary time after that, they had nothing to do or didn't like what they had to do. Lastly, they went back to their home after the storm which was three days. After they told the story they both agreed that it was a terrible storm and they had been in the worst place they would've been
1. Grandpa Fred and Clark were forced to take cover after a blizzard hit in 1888.
2. The places they took cover in weren’t very good.
3. The blizzard lasted 3 days.
4. They had a difficult time and tried to keep themselves occupied.
5. While they were digging through the snow, they passed each other on the way.
6. They went back to their homes on the last day of the blizzard.
7. They both remembered the horrible storm when they were old men.
THE MAIN IDEA: The main idea talks about how the authors’ grandparents were trapped out in the snow and were forced to take cover after a blizzard hit in 1888. It was a terrible time for them both.
HOW THESE EVENTS HELPED ME UNDERSTAND THE MAIN IDEA: The events helped me understand the story ( main idea ) by filling me in on the details on about what the storm did that affected the characters’ lives.
First, there was a big storm and nobody knew about it because it started at a sunny day. Then grandpa Fred and Clark started a conversation about the storm, and how it was a really bad storm. They both talked about how they were in the wrong spot. Grandpa Clark didn't want to be alone at a barn. Grandpa Fred was at a party and he liked staying alone. They both had to stay in places they didn't want to stay in for three days. After the storm Grandpa Fred and Clark had to dig there way through the snow. Finally, the both got at where they each wanted to be, Grandpa Clark stayed with other people, and Grandpa Fred stayed alone at his house.
the events in the terrible storm is that the first event is that they both went in to the worst play they ever been in because Walt like talking to people and fred hats being around people,So the storm put them in the wrong place,they both hated where they were,they also had a bad sleep because they were in an awkward place to sleep and couldn't and had an unpleasant.Walt had to eat and sleep with people.This is why that was the worst storm they ever had.

Their experience is the same because the had terrible days during the storm. i think the main idea of the entire book is both of them being at the exact opposite place at the same time.

ReplyDeleteFirst, the grandpas started telling their story about the terrible storm.
Next, they told each other how it started to snow harder and harder in the morning.
Then, they both thought they would be fine in the snow and started walking.
After that, they both found a shelter, but they didn't feel comfortable in their shelter.
A temporary time after that, they had nothing to do or didn't like what they had to do.
Lastly, they went back to their home after the storm which was three days.
After they told the story they both agreed that it was a terrible storm and they had been in the worst place they would've been
1. Grandpa Fred and Clark were forced to take cover after a blizzard hit in 1888.

3. The blizzard lasted 3 days.
4. They had a difficult time and tried to keep themselves occupied.
5. While they were digging through the snow, they passed each other on the way.
6. They went back to their homes on the last day of the blizzard.
7. They both remembered the horrible storm when they were old men.
THE MAIN IDEA: The main idea talks about how the authors’ grandparents were trapped out in the snow and were forced to take cover after a blizzard hit in 1888. It was a terrible time for them both.
HOW THESE EVENTS HELPED ME UNDERSTAND THE MAIN IDEA:
The events helped me understand the story ( main idea ) by filling me in on the details on about what the storm did that affected the characters’ lives.
First, there was a big storm and nobody knew about it because it started at a sunny day. Then grandpa Fred and Clark started a conversation about the storm, and how it was a really bad storm. They both talked about how they were in the wrong spot. Grandpa Clark didn't want to be alone at a barn. Grandpa Fred was at a party and he liked staying alone. They both had to stay in places they didn't want to stay in for three days. After the storm Grandpa Fred and Clark had to dig there way through the snow. Finally, the both got at where they each wanted to be, Grandpa Clark stayed with other people, and Grandpa Fred stayed alone at his house.
ReplyDeletethe events in the terrible storm is that the first event is that they both went in to the worst play they ever been in because Walt like talking to people and fred hats being around people,So the storm put them in the wrong place,they both hated where they were,they also had a bad sleep because they were in an awkward place to sleep and couldn't and had an unpleasant.Walt had to eat and sleep with people.This is why that was the worst storm they ever had.

ReplyDelete2. They were both talking about the terrible storm on the porch. When they were talking about the terrible storm, they were flashing back to where they were.
3. When they were working, snow started to grow thicker and thicker.
4. They wanted to get out of the storm, but they went to the worst place for three days.
5.When the storm stopped, they got out of the worst place ever.
6. Then they started digging through the snow to get out.
7. When they finished digging out the snow, they were glad to see the place they exactly belonged.
Main Idea: I think the main idea of this whole book is that Fred and Walt didn’t like the storm because they were both in the worst place ever that they could imagine. They were both in opposite places. Fred was in the worst place because he was with a lot of people and he is usually shy. Walt was is the worst place because he is sociable and he was at an abandoned barn with no one there. Fred was doing lots of things with the people in the house like, having to eat with them, and like having to sleep with those people to. Walt had no one to do stuff with and he ate alone and also slept alone. Then they returned to where they just belonged. That is what I think the main idea of this book is.
